Saving money on Airfare….

I thought this was pretty cool from an O Magazine article, ( about helpful hints on saving money, on Airfares….firgured I would pass them on…
*The best time to find a low fare is in the morning, says Keith Melnick, vice president of travel site Airfares are sometimes reset overnight, and the best pickings are available before East Coast workers get to the office.
*Look for flights departing Saturday, when fares are often cheapest; avoid Monday mornings and Thursday evenings, when flights are crowded with business travelers.
*Book as far in advance as possible—the chance of a price drop is slim, and should one occur, many airlines will credit you the difference upon request. My question on this one would be, should you request it every time since you wouldn’t know if there is a price drop? And how would you go about doing that? Call after your flight? Has anyone ever done this?

Also I think I heard somewhere that Orbitz will refund you the difference if a seat is booked cheaper….anyone know more about this program?
