How do you get the Entertainment factor in without spending as many bucks

So as we are tightening belts we don’t want to completely deprive ourselves of all fun and entertainment.  As an alternative to going out to dinner weekly,  perhaps take turns hosting and making dinner for/with two other couples. It’s a nice way to get out and socialize without spending too much cash.   Got kids, that is okay, do it during the day and make it a playdate for them also.  Or have bigger gatherings and assign different things to everyone coming.  That way there isn’t a lot of pressure on the host and you still get your fill of socializing.

Another something to consider if you are in need of that “date night” if you have kids.  Save on costs by swapping out babysitting duties with another set of parents that you know.

Also take advantage of those BOGO offers that restaurants are offering, an Entertainment Book is a good way to get this but also the advertisement flyers, I have been seeing quite a few restaurant certificates.

Any other ideas out there to help us stay on our spending plans without giving up all our fun?
